Did You Hear that One About Malaria?
October 19, 2010
Clearly, malaria is no laughing matter — in Africa, a child dies from it every 45 seconds. But nonprofit Malaria No More has just launched Comedy Fights Malaria, an attempt to use comedy to cut through the clutter and get people talking about the issue. They've just released a series of videos featuring "often absurd and sometimes downright bizarre messages" from a broad range of stars including Orlando Bloom, Elizabeth Banks, Aziz Ansari, and Ted Danson.
In this one, called "Growing Up," B.J. Novak, Ed Helms, John Mayer, and others discuss what children should be allowed to do (spoiler alert: this includes peeing in pools and lying to their parents). See the other videos on their site and consider donating $10 to buy a mosquito net to help prevent the spread of the disease.
